This contribution comprises N1 billion in cash and N1 billion in essential food supplies, designed to ease the hardships faced by displaced individuals and communities impacted by the floods.
The announcement was made during the company's visit to Maiduguri, where they delivered both the food supplies and the cash donation.
Abdul Samad Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Group and founder of ASR Africa, emphasized the company's dedication to supporting Nigerians during challenging times.
“The recent flooding in Maiduguri has caused untold hardship for thousands of families. At BUA, we believe it is our responsibility, as an organisation deeply rooted in the fabric of Nigerian society, to act swiftly and meaningfully in providing relief to those affected. Our N2 billion donation to the victims of the recent flooding in Borno is our own way of supporting the most vulnerable in times of crisis.”
The food items valued at N1 billion include flour, pasta, sugar, rice, and other vital necessities. These supplies will be allocated to the most severely impacted regions to offer prompt assistance.
Additionally, a cash donation of N1 billion was made to the state government via the governor to facilitate the swift delivery of aid to those in need. BUA Group, through its philanthropic division, the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa), has consistently shown its dedication to aiding communities throughout Nigeria and Africa, especially during times of crisis. This recent contribution is part of BUA’s extensive initiative to support recovery and rebuilding efforts in areas affected by flooding.In partnership with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders, BUA Group will persist in monitoring the situation to ensure that essential resources are available to assist the residents of Maiduguri in their recovery and rebuilding efforts following this disaster.
