The Federal Government has officially designated Monday, September 16, 2024, as a Public Holiday in observance of Eid-ul-Mawlid, which commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government, as stated by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry.

The Minister extended his congratulations to the Muslim community both domestically and abroad on this significant occasion.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged the Muslim community, and all Nigerians, to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience.

In his message, he urged the Muslim Ummah to take this opportunity to pray for lasting peace and a more prosperous and equitable nation.
