He shared this news with his followers on X on Sunday, indicating that he is pursuing a new career path.

Cenat expressed his aspiration to become a professional basketball player, stating, “I’m quitting streaming and becoming a professional basketball player.

Goodbye.” Earlier this year, he gained attention for his encounter with Afrobeats artist Davido during a trip to Nigeria, where he contributed to the renovation of a school in the Makoko community in Lagos State and expressed his intention to return to Nigeria in December.

Notably, Nigerian streamer Peller has previously mentioned that Cenat serves as his mentor.

Kai Cenat is an American online streamer and YouTuber renowned for his comedic live streams and videos. As of 2024, he ranks as the fifth most-followed Twitch streamer, boasting 13 million followers, and holds the record for the most subscriptions on Twitch, having surpassed Ludwig Ahgren's previous record during a subathon in February 2023. He received the title of "Streamer of the Year" at the Streamer Awards in both 2023 and 2024.

On February 8, 2024, during a live broadcast, Cenat announced his official partnership with Nike, expressing, “I would like to announce that we are officially a part of the Nike family”. This milestone made him the first streamer to sign with the brand.
