The Nigerian league champions, Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, have been eliminated from the CAF Champions League after suffering a 3-1 defeat against Sagrada Esperanca of Angola on Sunday.

Rangers concluded the tie with a 3-2 aggregate score, having secured a 1-0 victory in the first leg of the second round qualifier last weekend in Uyo.

This outcome leaves Nigeria without any representatives in the lucrative group stage of the tournament, following the earlier exit of Remo Stars.

During the match in Luanda, Rangers fell behind 2-0 in the first half, but Anayo Ogbonna scored just before halftime, leveling the aggregate score at 2-2, which would have allowed Rangers to advance on away goals.

However, a goal from Jaime Pimpao in the 67th minute of the second half sealed the victory for Sagrada, propelling them into the group stage.
