Oluseyi Oyefeso, Executive Director of Retail Banking South Directorate at FirstBank, has reaffirmed the bank's dedication to job creation, cultural preservation, and artistic promotion through its First@arts initiative.

During the stage performance of Kurunmi, a significant theatrical work that delves into the history of the Oyo Kingdom, Oyefeso highlighted FirstBank's ongoing commitment to bolstering Nigeria's creative sector.

"Through the First@arts initiative, FirstBank empowers major players to support SMEs and cultivate talent within Africa's creative landscape," he remarked, emphasizing the bank's pivotal role in fostering talent and safeguarding the country's cultural heritage.

He urged stakeholders in the creative industry to fully leverage the opportunities offered by the First@arts program, especially its interest-free financial assistance for industry participants.

“It’s about promoting job creation, developing the economy, and preserving our culture. All this is offered free of charge. FirstBank is here to support the creative industry and help it grow. As it grows, more people are employed, and we indirectly contribute to the growth of the Nigerian economy. That’s the ultimate goal,” Oyefeso said.

Gboyega Akosile, the producer of Kurunmi, conveyed his enthusiasm for collaborating with FirstBank to present the classic on stage.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with FirstBank to breathe new life into Kurunmi. Written by the legendary Ola Rotimi, this seminal work in African literature and theatre promises an unforgettable experience for audiences,” Akosile said.
