The anticipated rematch between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois, scheduled for February 2025, may be in jeopardy as Joshua reportedly struggles with self-doubt.

AJ recognizes his capabilities as a fighter and excels as a motivational speaker. Unfortunately, it appears he does not heed his own counsel, remarked Johnny Nelson.

Discussing the possibility of a postponed rematch, Nelson suggested that Joshua's internal doubts, stemming from his recent knockout loss to Dubois, could be a significant factor.

“I am not surprised if this fight gets pushed back, I don’t think this will be AJ’s next fight.”

“I think it is more of a mental thing with AJ, not physical, in my opinion. He got knocked out, had a hard training camp, and you don’t know what effect the knockout has had on him.”

The uncertainty lies within him. He must possess a stronger desire to succeed than anyone else. This, I believe, is the reason for the potential postponement.

While we know he is physically prepared, he must overcome the mental repercussions of the first fight. The only person grappling with indecision is likely him, and he needs to understand what went wrong against Dubois.

“It probably wasn’t the gameplan as if he carried out the gameplan then there was something fundamentally wrong.”
