Porsche is initiating a recall of 27,527 electric sedans in the United States due to potential short circuit issues within the battery module, as reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Tuesday.

This recall pertains to the 2021-2024 Taycan models, according to NHTSA.

The agency noted that "a short circuit in a high-voltage battery heightens the risk of a fire."

Dealers will provide a solution by installing diagnostic software in the affected vehicles and conducting any necessary repairs at no cost to the owners, the agency further stated.
