Wesley University Ondo has achieved a significant academic milestone by obtaining approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to launch undergraduate programs in Medicine and Surgery, Pharmacy, and several other disciplines for the 2024/2025 academic year.

All programs proposed by the university for resource verification have successfully received approval.

A statement from the NUC, signed by Acting Director of Academic Planning, Abubakar Girei, on behalf of the Acting Executive Secretary, dated September 30, 2024 (NUC/AP/P32/VOL.11/79), indicated that expert panels conducted thorough resource verification visits to evaluate the human and material resources necessary for the proposed programs at Wesley University, Ondo State.

The approved programs encompass the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.), Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPhysio), Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), B.Sc. in Anatomy, B.Sc. in Physiology, B.HIM in Health Information Management, as well as postgraduate degrees including PGD, M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Theology.

This approval aligns with one of the university's strategic objectives under the leadership of Rt. Rev Prof. Samuel Sunday Obeka, focusing on the establishment and initiation of new academic programs at the university's permanent site.

The Vice Chancellor expressed appreciation to the Methodist Church Nigeria for its unwavering support and congratulated the university community on this significant achievement.
