American rapper Meek Mill has expressed his interest in purchasing TikTok amid the app's looming ban in the United States as his tweet led to mockery online

In April 2024, President Joe Biden signed a law requiring TikTok's Chinese parent company to either divest the platform or cease operations by January 19.

Following this, TikTok filed an appeal with the US Supreme Court in December, shortly after CEO Shou Zi Chew met with President-elect Donald Trump.

During a press conference, Trump mentioned that he has a “soft spot” for TikTok and indicated that his administration would evaluate the app's future, including the possibility of a ban.

As ByteDance awaits the Supreme Court's decision regarding the app's future, Meek Mill has made his intentions clear to acquire the platform.

“Sell TikTok to me,” he posted on X. "If they cut off tik tok we going x and Fanbase.”

Meek Mill's Tweet Sparked Widespread Ridicule on Social Media

Meek Mill has become the focus of another viral incident, but this time, he is encountering mockery following his proposal that he should be the one to acquire TikTok.

A user on X remarked, "Meek Mill pls im not in the mood rn," as fans swiftly took to social media to humorously label a potential new app "MeekTok," poking fun at the rapper's latest business ambitions.

While Meek Mill appears to be making strides in the tech industry, this marks a shift from his typical business endeavors.

The rapper, who has built a successful music career, has also benefited from the guidance of prominent figures such as Michael Rubin and JAY-Z, who have played a significant role in enhancing his business acumen.

In a previous interview with Business Insider, Meek Mill reflected on how JAY-Z's achievements influenced his own path: "He actually built something," Meek said. "I watched that, and I studied that. That's why I'm working the way I'm working now to build a foundation for myself too."

Nevertheless, despite his engagement in various business initiatives, Meek Mill's recent actions seem to have missed the mark with his online followers.

His attempt to express solidarity with those impacted by the L.A. wildfires backfired, as fans criticized him for making the situation about himself. His insensitive remarks did not go unnoticed, with many calling for him to be more concise and respectful.
