A former star of the "Power Rangers" franchise has received a prison sentence after being found guilty of assaulting an elderly man who was using a walker.

According to the New York Post, Hector David Rivera, known for his role as the green Power Ranger in "Power Rangers Samurai" and "Power Rangers Megaforce," has been sentenced to 45 days in prison for the incident. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge related to an attack that was recorded on video in a parking lot in Nampa, Idaho, in July 2024.

TMZ reports that Rivera's original sentence was 180 days, but Canyon County Court Judge Matthew B. Schelstrate suspended 135 days of that sentence. Rivera will only serve 45 days if he maintains good behavior upon his release.

In addition to his prison time, Rivera has been placed on two years of supervised probation and is required to complete 100 hours of community service.

At 35 years old, Rivera was captured on a bystander's dashboard camera approaching the elderly man, who was using a walker, and pushing him to the ground in the parking lot of an apartment complex. The Nampa Police Department indicated that the altercation stemmed from Rivera allegedly parking his truck in a handicapped space.

Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any injuries, according to police reports.

Rivera, who is also known by his stage name Hector David Jr., fled the scene after the incident but was later identified when police shared the video online. The New York Post noted that Rivera was scheduled to appear at the Magic Valley Comic-Con in Twin Falls, Idaho, at the time but did not show up.

The actor has a diverse career, featuring in over 25 films and television shows, beginning with a role in the 2010 film "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief." He was part of the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" series from 2011 to 2015 and most recently appeared in the Netflix holiday film "The Merry Gentlemen" alongside Chad Michael Murray and Britt Robertson.
