Parma, sitting in the relegation zone at 18th place in Serie A, brought on Cristian Chivu as their new coach on Tuesday. The club shared the news in a statement, but they didn’t go into specifics about the contract. However, reports suggest that Chivu’s contract is set to last until the end of next season.

Chivu, a former defender for Romania, was previously coaching the youth team at Inter Milan. He’ll be making his debut in charge when Parma takes on Bologna this Saturday.

The team has been struggling lately, having lost four consecutive matches, which led to the dismissal of Fabio Pecchia on Monday. They haven’t managed to secure a league win in 2025.
