MRS Oil Nigeria Plc has announced a decrease in the prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly referred to as petrol, throughout the country.

In a statement released on its official X account on Monday, the company indicated that the new price for petrol in Lagos will be ₦925 per litre, down from the previous rate of ₦970 per litre.

This updated pricing will also apply to other regions in the South-West, where petrol will be priced at ₦935 per litre; in the North, it will be ₦945; and in the South-East, it will be ₦955 per litre.

MRS Oil Reduces Petrol Prices Across the Nation

The company reassured customers of its dedication to fair pricing and urged them to report any stations charging above the established rates.

“MRS Petrol is now selling at new regional prices! The prices may vary,” the company wrote.

“If you notice any station selling above the listed price, we’re just a call or email away.”

Recent reports suggest that this price adjustment follows closely after Dangote Refinery lowered its ex-depot petrol price from ₦950 per litre to ₦890 per litre.

On February 1, Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Refinery, explained that the price change was driven by global energy market trends.

“The adjustment was a direct response to the positive outlook within the global energy and gas markets, as well as the recent reduction in international crude oil prices,” Chiejina noted.

MRS Oil, in collaboration with Ardova and Heyden, is a significant partner of Dangote Refinery, which has recently commenced local petrol supply to lessen Nigeria’s reliance on fuel imports.
