Rainbow Tourism Group (RTG), a leading name in hospitality, has invested $500,000 to revamp the New Ambassador Hotel, aiming to keep up with global standards.

The extensive renovations at the hotel, located in Harare's CBD, began earlier this year and focus on completely upgrading guest rooms and bathrooms to boost comfort and improve the overall experience for visitors.

On Wednesday, during a media tour, RTG's Corporate Affairs and Quality Manager, Pride Khumbula, announced the comprehensive renovation of all 72 guest rooms. This refurbishment includes redesigned layouts for optimized space utilization and a complete bathroom overhaul featuring contemporary fixtures, such as stylish vanities and walk-in showers. Furthermore, the installation of low-flow toilets reflects the company's commitment to sustainability initiatives.

The hotel is scheduled to reopen on February 10, 2025, just in time to accommodate delegates for the SADC summit at the end of that month.

"We are pleased to advise that the New Ambassador Hotel will be ready to host the delegations attending the SADC Ministers meeting in February and March,"  she added.

The hotel will feature eco-friendly upgrades like low-flow toilet systems, energy-efficient LED lighting, and other initiatives aimed at reducing its environmental impact.

Additionally, guests can look forward to modern amenities, including smart TVs and internet-based phone systems. To enhance connectivity, the hotel's WiFi infrastructure is being improved with upgraded wireless access points for fast and reliable internet access.

The door access and locking system is getting an upgrade to an RFID Key Card system, which will include mobile key technology. This change aims to make check-ins smoother while boosting security and making things easier for guests.

Nestled in the heart of Harare's CBD, the New Ambassador Hotel is just a short stroll away from key financial, commercial, and government hubs, plus shops, cinemas, and cultural spots like the National Museum and Art Gallery.

Over the last five years, RTG has poured $26 million into hotel renovations. In July 2024, they wrapped up a $5.2 million makeover of the Rainbow Towers Hotel and Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).

To further cement its status as a top player in Zimbabwe's hospitality scene, RTG is investing $380,000 to refurbish its properties in Victoria Falls, including the Victoria Falls Rainbow Hotel and A'Zambezi River Lodge.

The upgrades to these three properties showcase a dedication to quality, innovation, and sustainability, aligning with the Zimbabwean Government's goals for an inclusive economy that benefits everyone.

The Group is not just improving its services but also playing a part in the larger mission of boosting tourism and investment, which are key components of the 2030 vision.
