Announcing the holidays, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, congratulated the Muslim community on successfully completing the Ramadan fast.
In a statement signed by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Minister encouraged Nigerians to uphold the values of self-discipline, compassion, generosity, and peace cultivated during Ramadan.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo also emphasized the importance of love, forgiveness, and solidarity in fostering a harmonious society. He urged citizens to use the occasion for prayer, focusing on national peace, stability, and prosperity.
Expressing hope that Eid-el-Fitr would strengthen unity across religious and ethnic divides, the Minister reminded Nigerians to celebrate responsibly and extend kindness to the less privileged, reflecting the true essence of the season.
