The novel, which was officially released on Monday, March 3, 2025, explores the lives of four women, delving into their loves, longings, and desires. Obi shared details of his trip and the event on social media, expressing his admiration for Adichie’s work and the discussions it inspired.
“I arrived in London, United Kingdom, safely on Sunday, March 2, for a packed schedule,” Obi wrote. “As is my policy for long-haul flights, especially when I have to begin work immediately upon arrival, I traveled via Air Peace business class.”
He revealed that his visit began with a series of meetings in Cambridge with development experts. “Our discussions focused on potential solutions to the challenges facing our nation,” he noted.
Later that day, Obi attended the book launch, where Adichie engaged in a thought-provoking conversation with journalist and author Elizabeth Day. “The dialogue was insightful and kept the audience fully engaged throughout the event,” Obi remarked.
He emphasized that the event was not only a celebration of literary excellence but also a reminder of Nigeria’s immense potential. “Investing in education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation—key measures reflected in the Human Development Index (HDI)—is crucial for our nation’s progress,” he stated.
Obi expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, saying, “Combined with my earlier discussions on revitalizing our nation and the inspiring performance by Chimamanda, I am convinced that with the energy and brilliance of our youth, collective commitment, and good governance, a better Nigeria is within reach. I remain confident that all hope is not lost. A new Nigeria is possible!”
