The Project Management Institute (PMI) has unveiled its latest initiative, ‘The Shift Code™’ podcast, a compelling series that delves into the critical role of project success in driving organizational and digital transformation.

Hosted by PMI President and CEO Pierre Le Manh, the podcast features in-depth conversations with top executives from diverse industries, offering listeners a front-row seat to the strategies and leadership insights behind groundbreaking projects.

The debut season kicks off with Steve Altemus, CEO of Intuitive Machines, the trailblazing company that achieved the first commercial soft landing of a spacecraft on the Moon in February 2024.

This milestone was followed by the successful launch of the IM-2 mission lunar lander, ‘Athena’, as part of Intuitive Machines’ collaboration with NASA to deliver advanced technology to the lunar surface.

Altemus shares how project management has been pivotal in overcoming the immense challenges of space exploration. “We’ve embraced lean, cost-effective approaches and set rigid milestones to push our team toward solving complex problems,” he explains. Le Manh echoes this sentiment, emphasizing that innovation often emerges from constraints: “Forced innovation happens when you tackle insurmountable challenges with limited resources and tight deadlines.”

The podcast also highlights other visionary leaders, including Robert C. Wolcott, Co-Founder and Chair of the World Innovation Network (TWIN), who explores how adaptability and flexibility can spark transformative innovation.

Miishe Addy, Co-Founder and CEO of Jetstream Africa, discusses the role of project management in revolutionizing logistics across West Africa, while Simon Molnar, Founder and CEO of Flagship, sheds light on navigating digital transformation in retail.

Additional episodes feature Vihari Kanukollu, Co-founder and CEO of UrbanKisaan, who shares insights into scaling sustainable urban farming in India, and Julissa Mateo Abad, Founder of STEMERIA and Mujeres TICs RD, who highlights her efforts to empower women in technology through inclusive leadership.

“When you’re pioneering new frontiers, people want to know the formula for success,” says Le Manh. “In *The Shift Code™*, we’re bringing together the doers and disruptors who are reshaping industries—from cutting-edge space exploration to sustainable agriculture. These conversations reveal how project management is the engine behind innovation, solving the impossible, and propelling humanity forward.”
