Adenike Adeniji, popularly known as Anik Entertainment, a rising Nigerian promoter based in the UK, has shared her candid thoughts on the challenges of the entertainment industry, stating that “there is no real love” in the Nigerian entertainment scene.

In a recent interview, Adeniji opened up about the hurdles she faced when starting out as an entertainment promoter. “Promotion is a very tough job. You have to be strong and hardworking to succeed in this profession or business. When you’re new, it’s tough to get other promoters to support you. You rarely find someone who will genuinely love you, support you, or your brand, especially when you’re just starting out,” she revealed.

Adeniji, who has carved a niche for herself in the male-dominated industry, also shared her journey into show promotions. “I’m a lover of good music and entertainment. From the beginning, I’ve always been passionate about entertainment. I even acted in two home video movies in 2005, but my parents discouraged me, so I quit. Now, I promote events and bring artists to the UK for shows. I still love acting, but I’m planning to venture into movie production. I’m currently working on some movie projects,” she explained.

When asked about her vision for her brand, Anik Entertainment, Adeniji emphasized taking things one step at a time. “I’m being cautious, especially in this industry. Whether it’s promoting, acting, or movie production, I want to take things slowly because I’ve realized that the industry is filled with fake people. There’s a lot of fake love, and I’m someone who values real love, transparency, and authenticity. Despite the challenges, I see myself doing more in movie production,” she said.

Adeniji’s journey highlights the resilience required to thrive in the entertainment industry, particularly as a woman breaking barriers in a male-dominated field. Her determination to stay true to herself while navigating the complexities of the industry serves as an inspiration to upcoming promoters and creatives.
