Nigerian Afrobeats star Kingsley Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee, has opened up about his once-buzzed-about relationship with Nollywood actress Ebube Nwagbo, confirming years of speculation that the two were romantically involved.

Speaking during an episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, Kcee took a nostalgic dive into his early fame years, recalling a time when his relationship with Nwagbo dominated entertainment headlines and red carpet appearances.

“Our relationship was everywhere—Ebube Nwagbo. We were always on the front covers of newspapers,” he said. “And we usually sat in the front row of every red carpet show. We were close to getting married. Whatever that happened, happened.”

While he didn’t delve into the reasons behind their breakup, Kcee hinted that the split was one of those unexplainable turns that life often takes.

Now married to Ijeoma Okonkwo since 2010, Kcee shared that his days of high-profile romance played out before the rise of social media, giving him a certain level of privacy that today’s celebrities may not enjoy.

“My scandals were before social media became rampant,” he said. “I was just about a young boy dating one actress. Me and actresses were always headlining the papers. I loved actresses back then. Who wouldn’t?”

His confirmation finally puts to rest long-standing rumors about his relationship with Nwagbo, one of Nollywood’s most admired actresses. Their high-profile romance, once a staple of entertainment columns, has now become a nostalgic piece of Nigerian pop culture history.

While both stars have since moved on with their lives and careers, Kcee’s candid reflections offer fans a rare glimpse into the emotional realities behind celebrity headlines — and the relationships that quietly shape their journeys.
