Amid a complex and emotional custody battle, Nigerian music star David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has shared a touching moment with his first daughter, Imade Adeleke, marking what he described as the “best day of my life.”

The Afrobeats icon took to Instagram Stories on Wednesday to post a photo of himself and 10-year-old Imade, smiling warmly for the camera. In another post, he shared a screenshot from a FaceTime call featuring Imade and his second daughter, Hailey, reflecting a rare and cherished family moment.

This public reunion with Imade comes during an ongoing custody dispute between Davido and Imade’s mother, Sophia Momodu, which has played out both in court and across social media over the past two years.

In mid-2023, Davido filed for joint custody of Imade, claiming that Sophia had repeatedly denied him access to their daughter and made financial demands he described as unreasonable. In legal documents, he sought a court order to ensure shared parental rights. Sophia, however, opposed the request, expressing concern over Davido’s lifestyle and citing the tragic 2022 death of his son, Ifeanyi, as part of her argument.

Tensions escalated further when Davido rekindled his relationship with longtime partner Chioma Rowland, whom he later married. Sophia accused the singer of emotional and financial manipulation, suggesting he used his access to Imade as leverage in their strained co-parenting relationship.

Despite the legal and personal tensions, the latest photos suggest a moment of peace—at least temporarily—as Davido embraces fatherhood in a more public way. His brief but powerful caption, “Best day of my life,” underscores the emotional weight of reconnecting with his daughter.

As legal proceedings continue, fans and observers alike are hopeful that both parties can find common ground in the best interest of their child. For now, the singer’s post offers a rare glimpse of unity in what has been a deeply contentious family matter.
