Gospel singer Kenny Saint Brown, popularly known as KSB, has offered a poignant reflection on the life and untimely death of the late iconic Nigerian rapper, Olayitan Oladapo, famously known as Dagrin. In a recent appearance on the Hoha podcast, the former Kennis Music artist shared her perspective on Dagrin's passing, linking it to the specific prayer requests he made in his verse on her 2010 song, "Turn Me Around," a track centered around themes of prayer and divine intervention.

KSB recounted her deep sorrow upon learning of Dagrin's death, emphasizing that she had witnessed God fulfilling the prayer requests articulated in the song. This led her to seek understanding from a higher power regarding his premature demise. According to KSB, the divine response directed her to revisit Dagrin's contribution to the track, where she observed a focus on aspirations for fame and material wealth, notably absent of a plea for longevity.

"When he [Dagrin] died, I cried, because the prayer requests on that ['Turn Me Around'] song God did it for him," KSB explained. "And I asked God what happened, He said go and listen to his Prayer Request, there is no long life there. He just said make I blow, 'Mo fe ma gun Bentley,' let everybody know me worldwide, and God granted everything."

Dagrin, a pioneering force in indigenous Nigerian rap, tragically passed away on April 22, 2010, at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). His death followed a devastating car accident in the Mushin area of Lagos. Reports indicated that his vehicle collided with a stationary truck around 3 a.m., leaving him unconscious until he was rescued by law enforcement officers. Despite receiving medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries several days later.

While his passing was a profound loss to the Nigerian music industry, Dagrin's influence and impact have only grown since his death. He is widely celebrated as a key figure who significantly popularized indigenous rap, paving the way for many artists who followed in his footsteps.

KSB's reflection offers a unique and spiritual lens through which to remember the artist and his aspirations, prompting contemplation on the power of our intentions and the unforeseen paths of life.
