In a bold expansion move that signals a shift beyond its roots in the food service industry, Tantalizers Plc has acquired Grand Media Projects Limited, the media and entertainment company founded by celebrated Nigerian filmmaker, Tade Ogidan.

The acquisition, confirmed in a corporate disclosure signed by company secretary Olamide Babawale-Mo, is part of Tantalizers’ strategy to position itself within high-growth, youth-centric sectors—particularly media, entertainment, and digital content creation.

“This strategic move marks a significant milestone in Tantalizers’ diversification journey as it expands beyond the food sector into the burgeoning creative and entertainment economy,” the company stated.

With Nigeria’s entertainment industry emerging as one of the country’s fastest-growing exports and a magnet for global investment, Tantalizers sees this move as a timely entry into a space rich with opportunity. The company emphasized that its long-term growth strategy now includes not just serving food but also crafting content and immersive lifestyle experiences that resonate with younger demographics.

Adam Nuru, chairman of Tantalizers Plc, described the acquisition as a “quantum leap” that will open doors to content development, branded entertainment, and event activations.

“There is a growing intersection between food, lifestyle, and entertainment,” Nuru said. “For us, this acquisition is about delivering meaningful, culturally relevant value to our brand and to our stakeholders. It’s about future-proofing our identity.”

On his part, Tade Ogidan expressed optimism about the deal, calling it a “socially-smart” decision with far-reaching creative and commercial potential.

“We are super excited about the creative opportunities this acquisition presents,” said Ogidan. “Tantalizers’ tech-driven entertainment platform has the potential to disrupt the industry, and we’re confident it will create long-term value for Nigerians and audiences around the world.”

As part of the deal, Tantalizers plans to unveil a new entertainment platform in the coming months, drawing from Grand Media’s creative library and production capabilities. The company hinted at upcoming projects that will merge storytelling, music, food, and live experiences—aiming to position itself as a full-fledged lifestyle brand.

Additional details, including the name of the entertainment platform and the slate of forthcoming projects, are expected to be released soon on the company’s website.
