Best Amakhian, founder of Glitch Studios and owner of the popular 'Honest Bunch' podcast, has addressed the recent departure of media personality Nedu from the show. Amakhian revealed the extensive efforts made behind the scenes to retain Nedu as a co-host following serious allegations of sexual exploitation and fraud leveled against him.

According to Amakhian, the team at Glitch Studios, which develops, finances, and markets the podcast, made several attempts to persuade Nedu to remain. Amakhian personally held multiple meetings with Nedu, suggesting a temporary break from the show to allow him time to manage the unfolding controversy.

However, Nedu reportedly declined this offer, opting instead for a permanent exit. He cited concerns for his mental well-being and a desire to protect the reputation of 'Honest Bunch' as his reasons for a full departure.

Glitch Studios' Stance and Efforts to Retain Nedu

Speaking during a recent session of 'Honest Bunch,' Amakhian emphasized the ownership and operational structure of the podcast. "This is a Glitch Africa-owned podcast. We develop content ideas, finance them, and handle marketing," he stated. "It’s not our only show. We also operate in Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa."

Amakhian explained that the decision to respect Nedu's choice was ultimately driven by a commitment to integrity and professionalism, especially given the nature of the allegations.

“...So, at the height of the controversy, we felt it was best for him to take some time out, to sort out these things. We reached out to him as a team, saying, ‘We see what the blogs are saying. We see the Issue. We recommend that you take a few weeks off,'" Amakhian recounted. "We will put a statement saying, ‘Nedu is taking a temporary break to address the current controversy.’ At the time, we told him, and he said it was not the best move for him. He would rather leave the show than accept that option."

Amakhian highlighted the show's core value: "We owe our audience when you hear that something is happening here. For a show built on honesty. For a brand that is African. It is an international brand. We have a lot of eyeballs."

Despite a long-standing personal relationship with Nedu, Amakhian noted that Nedu's decision was firm. "He said he would rather leave the show and posted that he was leaving and not coming back. I have known him for years. We have a personal relationship. I thought after the heat, maybe we would have a conversation like two guys. I allowed that to happen as he announced his exit," Amakhian shared. "Weeks later, I had to build some conversations, but he told me that he was done and that we should move on.”

Co-host Confirms Nedu's Personal Decision

"Husband Material," another co-host of 'Honest Bunch,' corroborated Amakhian's account, affirming that Nedu’s decision to step down was his own. He stressed the importance of respecting individual choices, despite their close working relationship.

“We are friends. I know that some people have said you should define friendship. You can be friends with someone, and they are not friends with you. We are friends. We work closely together,” he said. "We have collaborated for well over 10 years. But you cannot force somebody to do what they do not want to do. For me, it was a personal decision. And the decision was based on the hard work and the efforts that we have put into this. Everybody with their personal decisions."

The controversy that led to Nedu's departure began when social media personality VeryDarkMan publicly accused him of sexual exploitation and fraud, leading to significant public backlash. Despite Glitch Studios' attempts to retain him, Nedu opted to move on. The 'Honest Bunch' podcast has since welcomed Daddy Freeze as a new co-host.
