In a major boost for Nigeria’s growing electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem, Qoray has officially unveiled a public EV charging station at the Marriott Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos. The station, located at Car Park B2, is now fully operational and open to all EV drivers.

Strategic Location for EV Adoption

The newly launched station marks a significant milestone in Qoray’s mission to develop Nigeria’s clean energy transport infrastructure, making EV charging more accessible and convenient for Lagosians.

Positioned within one of Lagos’ busiest hospitality and commercial corridors—Ikeja GRA and Airport Road—the station is designed to serve a broad range of users, including:

  • Hotel guests
  • Conference and event attendees
  • Daily commuters passing through the area

The presence of a DC fast charger at such a high-traffic, premium destination signals a strong move toward modernizing urban mobility in Nigeria’s largest city.

A Step Toward Sustainable Travel

Speaking at the launch, Qoray CEO, Olubanjo Alimi, emphasized the company’s broader vision:

“We are proud to bring Qoray’s clean energy solutions to a prime location like Marriott Hotel. Our goal is to reduce the barriers to EV adoption by building accessible and dependable infrastructure in the places where people work, stay, and play,” he said.

“This station isn’t just about convenience—it’s about empowering individuals and businesses to make greener choices.”

The installation is expected to build confidence among both current EV users and potential adopters by providing visible, reliable infrastructure in a secure environment.

Marriott Hotel Aligns with Global Sustainability Goals

Echoing Qoray’s sentiments, Mr. Lakshmanan Ramanathan, General Manager of Marriott Hotel Ikeja, described the initiative as part of the hotel’s broader commitment to sustainable innovation.

“By offering EV charging on our premises, we are not only enhancing the guest experience but also supporting a shift toward environmentally conscious travel.

We welcome all guests and Lagos residents to take advantage of this new amenity,” he stated.

Powering Nigeria’s EV Future

As interest in electric vehicles grows in Nigeria, infrastructure remains a key challenge. Qoray’s partnership with Marriott is a step toward overcoming that barrier by placing premium, public charging infrastructure in strategic locations across major cities.

This development not only aligns with global trends in sustainable mobility but also sets a precedent for other hospitality and business centers in Nigeria to integrate green technologies into their operations.
