The 2025 Ojude Oba festival, a vibrant celebration of Ijebu heritage and culture, reached its zenith on Sunday, June 8th, with a spectacular display that saw Nollywood star Ibrahim Chatta take a prominent role alongside the Balogun Adesoye dynasty. The event, steeped in tradition and attended by a multitude of dignitaries, was particularly memorable for the captivating performance of the Balogun Adesoye family, largely amplified by Chatta's charismatic presence.

The annual Ojude Oba festival, a cornerstone of Ijebu identity, drew a distinguished guest list that included Governor Dapo Abiodun, Olori Adetona, Minister for Culture, Arts, Tourism and Creative Economy Barrister Hannatu Musawa, and numerous other prominent figures. The colorful spectacle featured over 80 beautifully adorned social societies, known as Regberegbe, alongside approximately 20 families of horse riders, including the revered Balogun Adesoye and Balogun Kuku families. These groups paraded before the pavilion, paying homage to Oba Sikiru Adetona, the Awujale of Ijebu Land, and other dignitaries present.

However, the undeniable highlight of the 2025 festival was the grand entry of the Balogun Adesoye dynasty. Led by Osi Balogun Adegboyega Adesoye, the dynasty's procession was elevated by the inclusion of Ibrahim Chatta. Their display, featuring a magnificent seventy horses, not only captivated the attendees but also earned a rare standing ovation from the crowd.

Dressed regally in bright yellow attires, Chatta seamlessly blended with the Balogun Adesoye dynasty, enhancing their already impressive presentation. His deep-rooted command of the Yoruba dialect was on full display as he chanted the family's panegyrics, leaving dignitaries and general attendees alike in a state of awe. The short but powerful display by the Balogun Adesoye family was hailed as not only exhilarating but also a profound exhibition of pure cultural expression. Chatta's aura and charm resonated throughout the entire pavilion, turning heads in the stands and VIP boxes.

Prior to their captivating performance at the main pavilion, the Balogun Adesoye family, with Chatta joining their procession, had already thrilled the streets of Ijebu-Ode. Their journey from the family house of the Balogun Adesoye dynasty was met with excitement and anticipation from onlookers.

The 2025 Ojude Oba festival will undoubtedly remain memorable for its sheer scale of attendance and the caliber of dignitaries present. Yet, amidst the myriad of vibrant displays, the Balogun Adesoye dynasty, buoyed by the compelling participation of Ibrahim Chatta, undeniably stood out, leaving an indelible mark on the celebration.
