Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has offered a candid update on her long-running health battle stemming from a violent attack in 2019, revealing that bullet fragments remain lodged in her head years after the incident.

The 39-year-old shared the details on Monday via an Instagram post, where she uploaded videos of herself undergoing scans and medical examinations. She described the past two weeks as particularly challenging, marked by hospital visits and a recommendation from her doctor for strict bed rest.

“Last two weeks have been so hectic lovers. It’s been one hospital or the other running some series of tests on my head and body,” she wrote, acknowledging that she had not been feeling well. She underscored the value of health, calling it an often underestimated gift.

Okorie revealed that recent check-ups confirmed the presence of remaining bullet fragments in her head, a painful reminder of the shooting she survived nearly five years ago. “As years go by, more still comes out,” she added, while expressing gratitude for what she views as divine protection. “God is with me no doubt and may his name be praised. Amen.”

The actress first went public about the attack in December 2019, claiming she was ambushed by what she described as “assassins” who sprayed bullets for half an hour. According to her earlier statements, she was struck multiple times in the head and narrowly survived thanks to what she has repeatedly described as divine intervention.

In 2021, she spoke again about the attack, explaining that fragments of bullets were still surfacing from her skull, complicating her recovery. She also alleged that the shooting was orchestrated by rivals within the movie industry, a claim she has stood by over the years.

Beyond her physical injuries, Okorie has been vocal about the emotional toll of the ordeal, expressing frustration with those she believes spread false narratives about the incident online. She has also maintained a firm stance that she would not forgive those she holds responsible for the ambush or the bloggers who, she says, misrepresented her story.

As one of Nollywood’s recognizable faces, Angela Okorie’s personal revelations highlight the vulnerability that public figures sometimes face, even outside their professional roles. Her continued openness about her health challenges serves as a sobering reminder of the lingering effects of violence—and the resilience required to navigate them over time.
