In a candid interview with Hip TV, Nelly argued that the twins brought little to the show and rode on the strength of their surname to gain popularity and respect among other housemates.
“Mbadiwe Twins’ surname made most housemates interested in them. They were well respected in the house because of the name. But it wasn’t a thing for me. I don’t care,” she said.
Nelly, who was known for her outspoken personality during her time in the house, did not hold back as she questioned the twins’ contribution to the season.
“I feel like they were not supposed to be in Big Brother’s house, to be honest. I cannot even say what they were doing in the house,” she remarked.
Despite her sharp critique, Nelly clarified that her issue with the Mbadiwe Twins wasn’t personal. However, she admitted that their presence in the house irritated her throughout the season.
“I don’t have anything against them, but they are just pissing me off. They annoyed me.”
The comments have reignited discussions among fans and viewers of the reality show, with some agreeing that the twins failed to make a strong impression, while others view Nelly’s remarks as unnecessarily harsh.
The Mbadiwe Twins, whose appearance on the show sparked curiosity due to their aristocratic surname and identical looks, have yet to respond publicly to Nelly’s claims. As Season 9 continues to draw analysis and reactions from both fans and former contestants, the role of perceived privilege and celebrity in reality TV remains a hot topic.
