Okan Buruk reveals club’s summer transfer strategy centred on Nigerian striker
Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has confirmed that the Turkish champions are on the verge of completing the permanent signing of Victor Osimhen, describing the transfer as the centerpiece of their summer activity.
Speaking to Turkish media outlet Habersarikirmizi, Buruk offered an upbeat assessment of negotiations and underscored just how pivotal Osimhen is to the club’s plans for the new season.
“Everything is Positive” — Buruk Gives Transfer Update
“Everything is positive regarding the Osimhen transfer. We are nearing completion. We hope it will be concluded positively soon,” Buruk stated.
He added that Galatasaray’s entire summer transfer strategy revolved around Osimhen, emphasizing that a substantial financial commitment had been made to secure the 25-year-old Nigerian striker.
“Our entire transfer situation was about Osimhen. A significant budget has been allocated.
Once that is finalized, we are looking at what we can do.”
Deal Structure and Financial Terms
Reports suggest that Galatasaray and Osimhen’s parent club, Napoli, have reached an agreement on key financial terms. This includes bank guarantees and a payment plan to cover Osimhen’s €75 million release clause, which will be paid in two instalments over the span of one year.
Such a structure reflects Galatasaray’s ambition to land one of African football’s biggest stars while managing financial fair play constraints and long-term squad planning.
Osimhen Poised for Fan Welcome in Istanbul
Osimhen, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, is widely credited with playing a pivotal role in their recent domestic success. His performances have convinced the club to pursue a permanent deal.
He is expected to meet fans this week in Istanbul as anticipation grows ahead of the official announcement. His arrival could be a defining moment in Galatasaray’s quest to dominate Turkish football and make a deep run in European competition.
