Actress Says Lizzy Anjorin Should Be Held Responsible If Harm Befalls Her Family

Popular Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo has taken to social media to raise concerns over her safety, saying her colleague Lizzy Anjorin should be held responsible if anything happens to her or her family.

In a video message posted on Instagram on Thursday, 10 July 2025, Ojo claimed she has been the target of repeated threats and intimidation. The latest escalation follows a string of unsettling incidents, including a fire at her Lagos office earlier this week.

Fire Incident and Threat Letter

Earlier in the week, Ojo’s office in Lagos was engulfed in flames. Although there were no casualties, the incident added to fears for her safety.

Her daughter, Priscilla, also spoke publicly about the matter. She said the fire was not an isolated event but part of a pattern of threats against the family. She revealed that in May, her mother received a letter explicitly threatening their lives and suggesting that their movements were being monitored.

Iyabo Ojo’s Detailed Allegations

In her Thursday Instagram post, Ojo confirmed receiving the threatening letter shortly before her daughter’s wedding in Tanzania.

“Without prejudice to the ongoing investigation, it is important to state that a few days before my daughter’s wedding in Tanzania, I received a letter threatening my life at my office. The letter explicitly stated that I would go through hell in the next three months,” she wrote.

Ojo accused unnamed individuals of orchestrating a campaign to kill her and harm her family.

Ongoing Dispute with Lizzy Anjorin

The tension between Ojo and Anjorin has been simmering for months, previously leading to a legal standoff. Less than 24 hours after Ojo’s latest post, Lizzy Anjorin announced that a ₦1 billion lawsuit she had filed was being withdrawn.

Ojo responded with a now-deleted video post in which she insisted that if anything were to happen to her, her children, or other family members, Lizzy Anjorin should be held accountable.

“If anything should happen to my children or my kids, hold Lizzy Anjorin responsible… we haven’t started any case yet… that was just ADR, case never start,” Ojo said in the video.

She clarified that the dispute was in the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) stage and had not yet proceeded to court.

Social Media Reactions

The controversy also drew a reaction from social media personality Martins Otse, popularly known as VDM. Responding to Ojo’s post, he expressed shock at her accusations but hinted that he was aware of details he preferred not to share publicly out of respect for the actress.

As the dispute continues to unfold online, many fans and industry observers are watching to see how the conflict between the two actresses—and the allegations of threats—will be resolved.
