The French champions dismantled the Spanish giants with goals from Fabián Ruiz, Ousmane Dembélé, and a brace from Gonçalo Ramos, securing their place in Sunday’s final.
Speaking to PSG TV after the match, Enrique expressed his delight at the result, describing it as a special moment for the club and its supporters.
“It is a very special moment for us, Parisians, for all the supporters, the entire club,” he said. “I think we did a really good job and played a great match. We are happy, we are in the final, and it has been an incredible season. We want to win this [Club World Cup] final.”
The former Spain and Barcelona coach also acknowledged the challenging weather conditions, noting the extreme heat during the match.
“Everyone saw the stifling heat—it is incredible to play in that,” Enrique said. “I think it affected both teams [PSG and Real Madrid], but we kept playing and fighting.”
The win marks another milestone in what has been a strong season for Enrique’s PSG side, who will now face Chelsea in the final on Sunday at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The Club World Cup final presents an opportunity for PSG to cap their season with a historic title, as they seek to assert their dominance not just in Europe, but on the global stage.
