First pilot of Women’s Skills Initiative trains 50 women in soap-making and business development under Project Nourish Africa
Noble-Eagle Industries Limited, the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) arm of the Johnvents Group, has successfully concluded the first phase of its Women’s Skills Initiative, a community-focused program designed to empower rural women with practical, income-generating skills.
Launched under the group’s flagship corporate social responsibility platform, Project Nourish Africa, the pilot project trained 50 women in Owo, Ondo State, in soap production and micro-enterprise management. The initiative aims to drive women’s financial independence, enhance household livelihoods, and boost Nigeria’s MSME sector by fostering grassroots entrepreneurship.
Since its inception in 2023, Project Nourish Africa has focused on unlocking human potential through education, enterprise, and economic inclusion. The Women’s Skills Initiative is one of its key pillars, designed specifically to uplift women through capacity-building and access to local markets.
“Our goal is to empower women in remote areas to become entrepreneurs, driving growth in Nigeria’s MSME sector,” said Ademola Atolagbe, Managing Director of Noble-Eagle Industries.
“This program is a step toward fostering a new generation of women entrepreneurs who are not only transforming their families but also contributing to community job creation and national development.”
Practical Training With Long-Term Impact
Delivered through interactive workshops, the program covered:
- Hands-on soap-making techniques (for bath, laundry, and liquid soaps)
- Chemical safety and component awareness
- Microbusiness management and entrepreneurship skills
- Branding, packaging, and market-readiness training
As these women re-enter their communities with new skills, they are positioned to become economic agents of change—capable of not just supporting their families, but also hiring others, thereby multiplying the program’s impact.
A Scalable Model for Women’s Economic Empowerment
Noble-Eagle Industries has expressed commitment to expanding the initiative to other communities across Nigeria. According to the company, the pilot’s success in Owo demonstrates the potential of skill-focused programs to bridge inequality gaps and drive inclusive growth.
By investing in women’s economic empowerment, the Johnvents Group is reinforcing its mission to nurture local talent, grow resilient businesses, and build a more prosperous future for African communities.
