According to a statement released on Monday by the Head of EKSU’s Directorate of Information, Bode Olofinmuagun, the NUC’s endorsement follows a successful Resource Verification Visit conducted in May 2025. The verification team assessed the university’s readiness in terms of human and material resources necessary for the programmes.
The approval was officially communicated in a letter dated 17th July 2025, signed by the Acting Director of Academic Planning at the NUC, Abubakar Girei, and addressed to the EKSU Vice Chancellor, Professor Babatola Ayodele.
Olofinmuagun described the development as “another major stride in the university’s drive towards academic excellence and honour,” adding that admission into the new programmes will commence immediately for the upcoming academic session.
Reacting to the development, Professor Ayodele reaffirmed the university’s commitment to academic innovation and relevance in addressing contemporary societal needs. He expressed gratitude to the staff and key stakeholders whose efforts made the approval possible.
In particular, the Vice Chancellor acknowledged the support of the Ekiti State Governor and Visitor to the University, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji; EKSU Chancellor, Dr. Tunji Olowolafe; and the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Akin Oyebode.
With these additions, EKSU continues to position itself as a forward-thinking institution expanding its academic frontiers to meet national and global demands in science, technology, and agriculture.
