Nigerian musician Prime Boy has sparked fresh controversy over the handling of the late singer Mohbad’s death, openly accusing Mohbad’s father, Mr. Aloba, of using his son’s tragic passing for personal gain while neglecting to ensure a dignified burial.

In a passionate TikTok live session, Prime Boy alleged that although many Nigerians have continued to demand justice for Mohbad, the singer’s body remains in the morgue months after his death. He criticised Mr. Aloba for allegedly prioritising public appearances and even visits to film sets over giving his son a proper burial.

“You didn’t buy a good coffin for Mohbad. He is still lying cold in the morgue. The Dad is busy going to different movie locations enjoying himself,” Prime Boy said during the session, questioning why Mohbad’s body had not yet been laid to rest.

The artist went further to challenge Mr. Aloba to reveal the true circumstances behind Mohbad’s death if he already had such knowledge, suggesting that clarity would end the “stress” for those still demanding answers.

Prime Boy also raised concerns about the management of donations collected in Mohbad’s name. He claimed there had been multiple GoFundMe campaigns launched by Mr. Aloba, and alleged that more than a million dollars had been raised without clear accounting or explanation of how the money was being used.

“If you already know what killed your son, tell us so we can stop stressing ourselves. This is wickedness,” he said, adding to the growing questions among fans and supporters about transparency around the family’s handling of donations.

Mohbad, a fast-rising artist, died in September 2023 under circumstances that led to widespread outrage, protests, and demands for a thorough investigation. His death triggered a national conversation about the Nigerian music industry’s treatment of young artists and alleged harassment by industry figures.

In the aftermath, the Lagos State government ordered an autopsy and opened a probe to establish the cause of death, but official findings have yet to be released.

Meanwhile, public sympathy for Mohbad’s family has become more complicated amid internal rifts and accusations of profiteering. Prime Boy’s latest remarks add to the already messy narrative, reflecting frustration among many of Mohbad’s supporters who want both answers and respect for the late singer’s memory.

Calls for justice remain strong on social media, where fans have continued to demand transparency, accountability, and a resolution that honours Mohbad’s legacy. For now, the heated debate around his burial, family disputes, and unanswered questions shows no sign of fading.
