The anniversary event spotlighted institutions and individuals whose exemplary leadership, commitment to transparency, and innovation continue to raise governance standards across sectors. In addition, SCGN launched a pro bono governance advisory initiative, offering free board advisory services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and non-profit organizations (NPOs), further cementing its commitment to nurturing ethical practices across Nigeria’s economy.
“Over 20 years, our Fellows have embodied the core values of good governance. They are living examples of ethical and responsible leadership,” Ajogwu said in a goodwill message. “As we celebrate this milestone, we are inspired to continue setting the stage for the future, strengthening the foundation of governance in corporate and public institutions.”
Ajogwu, who pioneered the establishment of SCGN, emphasized that the anniversary was not only a celebration but also a call to action, highlighting the importance of continuous learning, integrity, and accountability as essential pillars for sustainable leadership.Also speaking at the Gala, SCGN President Muhammad K. Ahmad commended the Society’s growing influence within the private sector. “In terms of compliance within the private sector, I believe we are doing very well,” Ahmad said. “The progress we have made underscores the relevance of our mission and the ongoing importance of strong governance in building sustainable institutions.”
Since its inception, SCGN has played a central role in shaping Nigeria’s corporate governance landscape through advocacy, training, and policy engagement, positioning itself as a leading authority on ethical practices and leadership development.
