The Lagos State University (LASU) has announced the commencement of admissions into its School of Part-Time Studies (LASU-SPTS) for the 2025/2026 academic session, offering a wide range of degree programmes designed to accommodate working professionals and other non-traditional students.

According to a statement signed by the University Registrar, Emmanuel A. Fanu, interested candidates can now apply for admission into various programmes at the university’s Ojo campus.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Possess five O’Level credits in relevant subjects.

For direct entry, holders of OND certificates from recognized polytechnics or LASU diplomas (Upper Credit) in relevant disciplines are also eligible to apply.

Faculties and Programmes

The part-time programmes cut across five faculties, offering candidates a broad array of academic options:

  • Faculty of Arts: English Language, History and International Studies, Music, Philosophy, Peace Studies, Yoruba Communication Arts.
  • Faculty of Communication and Media Studies: Mass Communication.
  • Faculty of Management Sciences: Accounting, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Marketing, Insurance, and other management-related courses.
  • Faculty of Science: Computer Science and Fisheries.
  • Faculty of Social Sciences: Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology.

Application Process

Prospective candidates are required to:

  1. Visit http://lasu.edu.ng/epayment to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₦20,000.
  2. Complete the online application form, upload credentials, and submit electronically.
  3. Await invitation for an entrance examination.
  4. Successful applicants will pay an acceptance fee of ₦30,000 and a medical fee of ₦30,000.

Deadline and Caution

The application window will remain open for six weeks from the date of publication. LASU also cautioned prospective applicants to avoid making payments to individuals or unauthorized accounts, stressing that all transactions must be carried out strictly through the official university website.
