Billionaire entrepreneur and nightlife mogul, Obinna Iyiegbu, better known as Obi Cubana, says he plans to retire from active business within the next decade to embrace a slower, more fulfilling phase of life.

In a recent interview, the 50-year-old businessman revealed that by the time he turns 60, he intends to step away from the fast-paced demands of entrepreneurship to travel the world and dedicate more time to his wife and family.

“By the time I turn 60, I’ll be done,” Cubana said. “I want to travel the world and give my wife the best experience life can offer. The idea now is to make sure my kids come up and become independent to live for the rest of their lives. No more work.”

The father of five explained that his current focus is on building a solid legacy—one that ensures his children’s financial independence and secures the longevity of his business empire. He described his busy lifestyle and constant travels as necessary sacrifices in pursuit of that goal.

For Cubana, success is not only about wealth accumulation but also about creating systems that can thrive without his constant involvement. “It’s all about working smart and setting up something sustainable,” he said, emphasizing that true success lies in enjoying the fruits of one’s labour.

Known for his influence in Nigeria’s hospitality, entertainment, and real estate sectors, Obi Cubana has built a reputation as one of the country’s most dynamic entrepreneurs. Yet, as he looks toward the next decade, his vision appears less about expansion and more about balance—ensuring that after years of relentless hustle, he can finally slow down and savor life’s quieter rewards.
