The Street Project Foundation (SPF), in collaboration with the Naija Youth Entrepreneurship Network (NYEN), has hosted its annual art and innovation festival, celebrating the creativity, resilience, and ingenuity of young Nigerians.
Now in its flagship edition, the event has grown into a dynamic platform where artists, entrepreneurs, thinkers, and changemakers converge to explore how creativity can be harnessed to transform communities and stimulate economic development.
Speaking at the event, the foundation’s Visioner, Mrs. Rita Ezenwa-Okoro, described the festival as more than a gathering of talents—it is a movement redefining the role of creativity in national development.
“Since inception, it has become a hub where artists, entrepreneurs, thinkers, and changemakers gather to explore how creativity can transform communities and drive economic growth,” she said.
This year’s edition, themed “Can Creativity Change the World?”, underscored the power of the arts to inspire social change, empower young people, and shape the future of work in a rapidly evolving economy. According to Ezenwa-Okoro, with Nigerian youths at the forefront of the country’s creative economy, the festival offers a rare opportunity for self-expression, networking, and capacity building, while celebrating innovation and social impact.
Beyond its exhibitions and performances, the festival also recognised outstanding young creatives through awards and competitions. Recipients of the Wole Oguntokun Legacy Award and winners of the Creative Pitch Competition received cash prizes of ₦1 million each—an initiative designed to honour fearless storytelling and encourage entrepreneurship among emerging talents.
The Pitch Competition, one of the festival’s highlights, empowers young innovators to transform their creative ideas into sustainable ventures. Ezenwa-Okoro noted that participation remains free, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for youths across different backgrounds.
“The Do What You Love Festival is Nigeria’s foremost platform celebrating youth innovation and creativity,” she said. “Creativity is not just entertainment; it is a tool for social transformation and economic empowerment.”
Through this celebration of artistry and innovation, the Street Project Foundation continues to affirm its belief that creativity remains one of Nigeria’s most powerful tools for driving social impact and shaping a prosperous future.
