In a social-media post, Fabiyi said the footage was sent to him in what he described as an attempt at extortion, adding that unnamed individuals were trying to use the material to intimidate him. He called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene directly, noting that he had earlier written to the Presidency in May 2025 and asserted in that correspondence that Mohbad had been “murdered.”
Fabiyi claimed the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja had reviewed the case file and identified key suspects during earlier stages of the inquiry. Despite that, he alleged that efforts were now underway to quietly sideline the matter.
According to the actor, those he considers central to the case are “seeking to cover it up,” and he further accused one suspect of orchestrating a petition against him to stifle his advocacy. He insisted that the same individuals pushing the petition were linked to the video he was allegedly sent.
The renewed claims add to ongoing public pressure on law-enforcement agencies and government officials, as questions persist over the pace, transparency, and direction of the investigation into Mohbad’s death. Authorities have not yet issued a formal response to Fabiyi’s latest statements.
