AY’s comments follow a spate of alarming incidents, including the abduction of schoolchildren, attacks on places of worship, and the killing of senior military officers, among them a Brigadier General.
In a social-media post, the entertainer highlighted the growing boldness of criminals, noting that bandits now storm churches to abduct and kill worshippers, while schoolchildren are taken directly from classrooms with minimal resistance. He questioned how the nation descended into such widespread lawlessness and why authorities have failed to respond decisively.
The comedian also raised the possibility that Nigeria might eventually require external intervention if the security situation continues to deteriorate, emphasizing that government leaders have so far been largely unresponsive despite the mounting wave of violence.
Concluding his message, AY called for urgent accountability, comprehensive security reforms, and meaningful measures to protect citizens’ lives and restore order nationwide.
