Fans were left stunned at Burna Boy’s Denver concert on Wednesday night after the Grammy-winning Nigerian artiste abruptly stopped his performance to eject a couple he accused of “sleeping” during his set.
The dramatic moment unfolded midway through the show when Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, paused his performance to call out the pair seated near the front of the stage.
Visibly irritated, the singer demanded that the male fan escort his girlfriend out of the venue, accusing her of showing no enthusiasm and disrupting his vibe.
“When I stand up here [on the stage] and see you over there with your girl sleeping in the front of me, it pisses me the fk up. So please, take her the fk home… Walahi I’m not performing another song till you go home,” Burna Boy said, drawing mixed reactions from the audience.
At first, the couple appeared reluctant to leave, but as the crowd began chanting for them to go, they eventually exited the venue. Burna Boy then resumed his performance to loud cheers from the audience.
The incident quickly spread across social media platforms, with fans and commentators divided over Burna Boy’s reaction—some defending his passion for performance energy, while others criticised the outburst as unnecessarily harsh.
The Denver show was part of the Nigerian superstar’s ongoing North American tour, which has drawn sold-out crowds in major cities.
