LGuinness Nigeria Plc has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of Guinness Smooth, a refreshing new variant of its iconic stout, at a lively event held at the Wattbridge Hotel, Uyo.

The event, which drew consumers, vendors, entertainers, and industry stakeholders, also featured appearances by prominent personalities including George Essien, Guinness World Record holder in radio broadcasting, popularly known as Mighty George.

Guests were treated to an evening of music, entertainment, and tasting sessions that showcased the distinctive qualities of Guinness Smooth — described as a rich, fruity, and easy-drinking stout with a subtle butterscotch finish.

According to Odinakachi Njoku, Brand Manager, Guinness, the new product represents a balance between innovation and tradition.

“Guinness has a long-standing presence in Nigeria and across Africa. The relaunch of Guinness Smooth is part of our innovation journey to expand the Guinness family,” Njoku said.

“Choosing Uyo, with its rich culture, vibrant nightlife, and energetic youth population, is our way of celebrating the people and strengthening our relationship with them.”

Njoku also reiterated the company’s commitment to responsible drinking, as well as its continuous support for local economies through partnerships with vendors, entertainers, and event organizers.

Carl Mbagwu, Head of Division (East) at Guinness Nigeria, described Guinness Smooth as a product tailored to the evolving tastes of Nigerian consumers, particularly younger drinkers seeking lighter, more approachable options.
