A year after actress Bisola Badmus accused Fuji music legend Wasiu “Kwam 1” Ayinde of neglecting his paternal duties to their son, Abdulmalik, the family has shared a public moment of reconciliation.

The reunion took place during the housewarming, 30-year music celebration, and album listening event for Islamic singer Rukayat Alawiye, held at Victoria Garden Event Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, on Thursday. A video shared on Kwam 1’s Instagram captured the emotional moment as Abdulmalik, dressed in white, approached his father on stage. The two shared a heartfelt embrace while Kwam 1 sang joyfully about his son’s return, prompting cheers from the audience.

“The child has returned home; Abdulmalik has returned. The son of Bisola Kafaya has returned home. Kafaya, this child will not falter; you suffered for him, and you will not weep,” the singer sang as the reunion unfolded. During the event, Bisola, who remained in the crowd, was showered with money before she and her son returned to their seats.

Beyond the family reunion, Bisola also reconnected with colleagues including Faithia Balogun, Kemi Korede, and Dayo Amusa, sharing hugs and warm exchanges as they celebrated alongside her son.

The development comes after Bisola had publicly revealed in 2024 that she needed sponsorship for brain surgery abroad, due to battling encephalopathy. Following that disclosure, she secured a sponsor for her treatment overseas and received support for her son’s secondary school fees, as well as a university scholarship.

The reunion at Rukayat Alawiye’s event marks a significant moment for the family, highlighting reconciliation after a year of public speculation regarding Kwam 1’s role in his son’s upbringing.
