In a recent interview on Ada’s Room, the music star explained that public assumptions about him being reserved or introverted are misplaced.
“One thing I wish people could understand about me is I am not shy, I am just laid back,” Olamide told the host.
When asked to differentiate between shyness and being laid back, Olamide elaborated: “Shy is when you don’t have the confidence and the charisma to stand people or look them in the eye or have conversations with them. But being laid back is you just don’t want to be bothered. People think I am shy, but I am not.”
Olamide, known for hits like "Rock" and "Wo!!", has often been perceived as quiet off-stage, leading some fans and media to label him as shy. His clarification offers insight into his approach to fame and public interactions, highlighting a personality that is relaxed rather than reserved.
The rapper’s explanation also sheds light on the distinction between introversion and personal composure, reminding fans that being calm and measured does not equate to a lack of confidence.
Olamide continues to balance a highly visible career in the Nigerian music industry while maintaining his personal space, a trait he clearly values as part of his laid-back demeanor.
