The latest season follows the iconic character Papa Ajasco, now reimagined as Gen Z Papi, as he embarks on a journey to superstardom as a successful Afrobeats musician while navigating a fierce rivalry with fellow artist Emperor Agu. The series brings together familiar faces, including Pa James, Mama Ajasco, Boy Alinco, and Miss Pepeiye, alongside a talented new cast featuring Jude Chukwuka, Jide Kosoko, Fatai Oodua (Lalude), Francis Odega, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Jaiye Kuti, Nobert Young, Shade Ayinke Ola (Iyalegba), Shirley Igwe, Oluchi Amajuoyi, and others.
Originally created by Wale Adenuga in 1977 (formerly titled The Ajasco Family), the series is celebrated for its humorous yet insightful exploration of family dynamics and societal issues in Nigeria. The show’s signature characters—the mischievous Bobo Ajasco, the long-suffering Mama Ajasco, flirtatious Boy Alinco, gold-digging Miss Pepeiye, and the ill-fated Pa James and Pa Jimoh—continue to delight audiences with their antics.
