A major highlight of the concert is the return of the legendary boy band Plantashun Boyz, performing together on stage for the first time in nearly 20 years. Their reunion is expected to be a nostalgic moment for fans and a centerpiece of the music lineup.
Executive Producer Mannie Udoh explained that MainlandLaffs was created to challenge the perception that premium entertainment in Lagos is limited to Lekki and Victoria Island. “We are a family entertainment brand, and our USP is hosting the biggest family entertainment events on the Lagos Mainland,” Udoh said. “This year, Sunday, December 7, will be a full day of fun, excitement, and quality entertainment, with three mega events rolled into one.”
The show promises a diverse lineup, blending comedy, music, and cultural celebration. Stand-up comedy heavyweights Basketmouth, Kenny Blaq, Dr Smiles, Husband Material, 16 Oniru, Omini Aho, MC Bishop, and Larry J will keep audiences laughing throughout the day.
Adding to the festive vibe, a Christmas Pop-Up Sales Party will feature over a hundred vendors offering discounts and gifts to shoppers. This will be followed by a Mega Gospel Music Comedy Fest called Decembe2Rememba, featuring top gospel acts and DJ Horphuray on the decks, with Blackboy MCM as hypeman.
The night will conclude with a Praise Fest, blending comedy, dance, and musical performances to usher in the Christmas and year-end thanksgiving season.
Event promoter and Country Manager of Etu Odi Communications, Olumide Campbell, highlighted that MainlandLaffs is more than an entertainment event. “It’s a platform to showcase the Mainland as the heart of Lagos, celebrating its values, diversity, creativity, and cultural vibrancy,” he said.
With music legends, comedy giants, and festive activities all in one day, MainlandLaffs 2025 promises to be a landmark celebration of Lagos’ Mainland entertainment scene.
