Big Brother Naija star Queen Mercy Atang has confirmed the end of her one-year marriage to David Oyekanmi.
The reality TV personality, a single mother, tied the knot in March 2024 amid a public dispute with her child’s father, skit maker Lord Lamba. Shortly after the wedding, Mercy fueled speculation of marital trouble by unfollowing her husband on Instagram and deleting their wedding photos.
At the time, she downplayed the rumours, explaining she was “trying to take my marriage off social media and reduce some of the things I put out there.”
However, on Wednesday, Queen Mercy addressed her marital status publicly in an Instagram comment. After posting a photo from the funeral of actress Mercy Aigbe’s mother, a fan asked, “Queen, hope you are still married because asa, you are too beautiful to be single.” She replied simply: “Single and unavailable.”
The confirmation ends months of speculation and marks a new chapter for the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye housemate as she navigates life post-marriage.
