Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has opened up about one of the most traumatic periods of her life, recounting how she was stalked by a man for more than nine years—enduring as many as 50 phone calls a day alongside a steady stream of disturbing, unsolicited messages.

Speaking during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Akintola said the experience was deeply frightening and emotionally draining. She noted that she kept the ordeal away from her family, fearing the emotional toll it would take on her mother.

According to her, the harassment was unrelenting, often arriving daily or every other day. “I had some guy who stalked me for a long time. It was bad,” she recalled. “I don’t know how it ended. I just noticed one day that he had stopped sending messages.”

Akintola explained that the stalker sent graphic declarations and obsessive messages, describing things he intended to do and expressing possessive fantasies. “He made me miserable,” she said. “He would call 50 times a day… messages about how he loved me and how I was for him.”

The actress said she chose silence to protect her family from worry, particularly her mother, whom she believed would panic if she knew how serious the situation was.

Akintola described the prolonged harassment as one of the most distressing experiences she has ever faced, noting that it took a significant emotional toll over the nine-year period before it eventually stopped without explanation.
