The 2025 President’s Dinner and Induction Ceremony of the Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria (SCGN) offered more than an evening of celebration in Victoria Island, Lagos—it served as a gathering point for leaders shaping the country’s corporate governance landscape. Held on Tuesday, November 25, the annual event convened board directors, senior executives, policymakers, investors, and governance professionals for discussions on strengthening ethical leadership and advancing best practices across sectors.
Set against a backdrop of growing expectations for transparency and responsible corporate conduct, the event combined recognition, professional development, and community-building. Attendees reflected on the evolving governance environment in Nigeria and the increasing importance of institutions like SCGN in promoting accountability and long-term sustainability.
Celebrating Excellence in Governance
A central moment of the evening was the Conferment of Fellowship, which honoured seven distinguished individuals whose careers demonstrate exemplary leadership and commitment to sound governance principles. This year’s Fellows included:

Their recognition underscores the Society’s commitment to elevating leaders who model integrity, professional excellence, and a strong sense of responsibility in corporate oversight.
Strengthening the Governance Community
Beyond celebrating senior leaders, the ceremony also opened its doors to a new cohort of individual and corporate members. Their induction reflects the Society’s expanding role as a hub for governance advocacy, knowledge-building, and professional ethics.
Through its training programmes, policy dialogues, and thought-leadership initiatives, SCGN continues to develop a network of practitioners equipped to navigate emerging challenges—from regulatory shifts to stakeholder expectations around sustainability and risk management. The addition of new members broadens the reach of this mission, ensuring a stronger, more connected governance ecosystem.
