In a letter dated December 11, 2025, the ruling house informed the musician that its internal investigation did not uncover any evidence linking him to the Jadiara Royal House or to the wider Fusengbuwa lineage. The correspondence, signed by its chairman, Otunba Lateef Owoyemi, emphasized that the verification of ancestry is a serious matter in the Awujale selection process and must be supported by verifiable family records.
Central to the ruling house’s objections is the certification of Ayinde’s linkage form—an endorsement the house described as irregular. The form was reportedly signed by Adetayo Abayomi Oduneye, whom the ruling house says is not a recognised member of the Jadiara Royal House and therefore lacks the authority to validate such a document. The timing of the certification also drew scrutiny, with the house pointing out that the form was endorsed on December 8, two days before Ayinde signed it on December 10, raising concerns that it had been “presigned.”
The letter stated that the review produced “no proof” of Ayinde’s membership in either the Jadiara or Fusengbuwa branches, and that Oduneye has “no locus standi” to certify lineage on behalf of the family. Consequently, the ruling house declared the musician’s submission “null, void, and of no consequence,” formally rejecting his claim to the royal lineage.
This development adds to growing debate around the musician’s unexpected entry into the succession contest—especially given his long-established link to the Fidipote Ruling House, through which he holds the traditional title of Olori Omooba of Ijebuland. His bid was filed after he was granted an additional five days beyond the official December 5 deadline for submitting lineage documentation.
In the form he submitted, Ayinde asserted descent from the Setejoye family unit of the Jadiara Royal House through his father, Adisa Adesanya Anifowoshe, with Oduneye’s countersignature supporting the claim. However, several family heads, including leaders of the Jadiara and Bubiade units, had earlier publicly denied any genealogical connection to him or his father.
The Fusengbuwa Ruling House convened an emergency meeting on Thursday to deliberate on the musician’s filing and the controversy it sparked within the royal family structure. Their latest response signals a firm position ahead of further steps in the selection of the next Awujale.
