In a statement on Wednesday, LAMATA’s Head of Corporate Communication, Kolawole Ojelabi, said the Blue Line would operate beyond its usual hours on Friday, 5 December 2025. “The LRMT Blue Line will run until 11:43 pm, extending past its normal closing time of 9:30 pm,” the statement read.
Operations on Saturday, 6 December, will start early at 4:00 am and continue through 9:30 pm to facilitate early-morning travel and post-event return trips, according to LAMATA.
The LRMT Red Line will also run on Friday but will maintain its standard schedule from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and the PM peak from 5:20 pm to 8:40 pm. The Red Line does not operate on Saturdays. Normal timetables for both lines will resume on Sunday, 7 December 2025.
LAMATA reminded commuters to use Cowry Cards for access, follow station guidance, and cooperate with officials to ensure safe and efficient travel throughout the event weekend.
The Experience Lagos, founded in 2006 by Pastor Paul Adefarasin of House on the Rock Church, is an annual all-night gospel concert held at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos Island. Over the years, it has attracted hundreds of thousands of attendees and international gospel artists, and now also livestreams performances to audiences worldwide.
The event traditionally holds on the first Friday of December and is expected to draw large crowds this year, prompting LAMATA’s extended services on the Blue Line.
