In a video that surfaced online on Tuesday, the content creator expressed remorse and appealed for forgiveness from Nigerians, promising not to repeat the behaviour. He also disclosed that he was undergoing medical care and said he would return online after completing his treatment.
The arrest follows an incident that police say occurred on Sunday, December 14, 2025, along the Lekki–Epe Expressway. According to police accounts, Peller was allegedly driving recklessly while livestreaming on social media, an action that reportedly led to a serious road accident and endangered other motorists.
The controversy comes amid reports of a recent breakup between Peller and his girlfriend, Jarvis. Jarvis had earlier confirmed the end of the relationship, citing Peller’s struggles with emotional control as a key factor in her decision to leave.
Confirming the arrest, the Lagos State Police Command said the influencer’s actions were considered a deliberate and dangerous violation of road safety rules, with implications for both his personal wellbeing and the safety of other road users. The police added that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
Authorities stated that Peller will be arraigned in court once investigations are concluded.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, issued a warning to social media influencers and digital content creators, cautioning against promoting or engaging in reckless behaviour for online engagement. He stressed that actions capable of endangering lives, whether online or offline, would be met with firm legal consequences.
